MOUZ tops European CS2 rankings: Valve’s new leader

How the top 10 places were distributed

The European organization MOUZ took first place in the latest Counter-Strike 2 team rating published by Valve. This list has become one of the most anticipated, because it determines the strength and competitiveness of the best teams in the region. Before this, Team Vitality held the lead, but in the latest update, it was MOUZ that managed to overtake the French club and consolidate its position at the top.

This achievement is of particular importance for MOUZ. The team has long been among the strongest, but more often remained a contender than a leader. Now the team has proven that it is capable of surpassing even the most experienced opponents. Victories in a series of major matches, a stable roster, and the ability to show results at a high level have become key factors in their success. In second place is Team Vitality, which has long held the status of the favorite in Europe. Third place is occupied by ENCE, a club that led the rating back in August of this year. Despite a decline in recent months, the team continues to be among the strongest.

How the top 10 places were distributed

Among the CIS representatives, Team Spirit and Virtus.pro took the highest positions — they are in sixth and seventh place, respectively. Their stability and high level of play allowed them to consolidate in the upper half of the rating. The legendary organization Natus Vincere also entered the top 10, taking the fifth position. NaVi still remains one of the most recognizable brands on the world stage, and their games continue to attract millions of viewers.

Cloud9 took ninth place. Despite a series of failures, the team remained in the top thanks to several important victories in international tournaments. Another European team, which is rapidly developing and proving that it is capable of imposing a fight on the favorites, rounds out the top ten. Vitality remains one of the strongest teams in Europe, but in recent matches the French team suffered several disappointing defeats, which cost them the leadership. Despite this, the presence of star players and rich tournament experience allow Vitality to remain among the favorites of any competition.

The Importance of Valve's Rankings for Esports

ENCE, on the contrary, showed a decline compared to the summer, when the club occupied the first line of the rating. Nevertheless, the Finnish organization continues to fight at a high level. Their strength is in team discipline and competent work of the coaching staff. Even in the absence of bright individuals, ENCE is consistently in the top 3 in Europe. For fans from the CIS countries, the rating was especially pleasant. Three teams at once – Team Spirit, Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere – entered the top ten.

Team Spirit (6th place) made a powerful breakthrough in 2024. The young roster under the guidance of an experienced coach managed to surprise many, showing confident play at the largest championships. Their aggressive style and talented AWPer have become the calling card of the team. Virtus.pro (7th place) hold their positions thanks to a strong structure and disciplined play. Despite the changes in the roster, the club remains one of the most stable representatives of the region. Natus Vincere (5th place) are still associated with the name s1mple, although the team is undergoing a restructuring. Even with the change of players, NaVi managed to remain at the top of the rating, which speaks of the high system and experience of the organization.

The Importance of Valve’s Rankings for Esports

The Valve rating is not just a list, but a tool that will determine the future ecosystem of Counter-Strike 2. Starting in 2025, this data will be used by organizers of major tournaments. This will change the usual invitation system, where commercial interests and the reputation of clubs used to play an important role. Now the success of teams will depend solely on their game. Such a system increases competitiveness: each meeting can affect the position in the rating and, as a result, participation in majors. Valve stated that the calculations take into account not only the results of matches, but also the strength of opponents, the importance of tournaments and the stability of the roster.

This makes the rating as objective and transparent as possible for fans. Interestingly, Valve presented not only the European rating, but also similar lists for other regions. In America, the first place was taken by the Brazilian club MIBR, in Asia – Lynn Vision Gaming. This shows that CS2 is gradually becoming an even more global discipline, where different regions can compete on equal terms.
